Our Surveyors

Joint Commission surveyors are specially trained professionals with experience in the assisted living industry who understand the day-to-day issues that confront providers and have the hands-on expertise to help organizations resolve them.

Providing a valuable external perspective of your performance against nationally recognized standards, our experts share industry best practices and pinpoint risks before they can become costly problems.

Â鶹´«Ã½’s accreditation process begins with an on-site survey that involves:

  • Tracing the patient’s experience, which involves observing services provided by various caregivers and programs within the organization, as well as hand-offs between them.
  • On-site observations and interviews.
  • Assessment of the physical facility.
  • Review of documents provided by the organization.

Steps to Accreditation

Review the Requirements

Request free 90-day access to our online standards manual and review the helpful, self-assessment prompts in each chapter and the written document checklists.

Assess Your Readiness

Identify your areas of non-compliance and determine the time needed to come into compliance with the standards. This will help you identify a potential survey readiness date.

Submit Application & Deposit

Ticking clock iconOnce granted access, complete and submit your application for accreditation. Be sure to also submit the $1,700 deposit to avoid delays in the scheduling of your survey.

Prepare for Your Survey

Checklist iconAccess the many free resources available to help you prepare for accreditation, including your dedicated account executive and the Standards Interpretation Group for questions about specific standards.

Participate in Survey

Calendar iconParticipate in your Joint Commission survey and complete any post-survey follow up necessary to receive your accreditation decision.

Pricing

Accreditation fees are calculated based on the services provided and your average daily census. There are two components to the fees — annual fees which are invoiced each year during the triennial accreditation cycle and an on-site fee which is invoiced during the year your survey is conducted.
